Onlangs werden wij attent gemaakt op enkele gevaarlijke verkeerssituaties in de wijk Rijpelberg. Diverse klachten hebben ons bereikt van het Jan Bungenershof en van de hoek Hollandhof 14 en aan de overzijde Jan van Vlissingenhof 49 waar de paaltjes zijn weggenomen door de Gemeente Helmond en volgens een klager ook niet teruggezet worden, want er was sprake van een project, verdere uitleg kreeg de man niet.
Daarop hebben wij telefonisch contact met u opgenomen en hebt u toegezegd de 12e augustus te reageren per telefoon, waar wij op zich akkoord mee zijn. Maar dit riep bij nader inzien toch de vraag op of dit project wel/niet afsluiten van wandelpaden/fietspaden enkel in Rijpelberg loopt of ook elders in de stad.
Zo ja, waar, en wat zijn daar dan de bevindingen?
Paaltjes kunnen in het donker gevaarlijk zijn en dat men het risico van ongelukken van fietsers wil beperken begrijpen wij wel; anderzijds heeft dit tot gevolg dat op de twee genoemde locaties sprake is van veelvuldig autoverkeer vanaf de Weg door de Rijpel e.d. , dat wij geneigd zijn dit project als mislukt te beschouwen, in ieder geval op genoemde locaties en wij verzoeken u dus op korte termijn de fietspaden voor auto's weer af te sluiten.
