Voorstelling boeken 'Zeeland. Gedichtenbundel en Verhalenbundel van Zeeuwse bodem' groot succes!
Zaterdag 9 april werd in Kerkje in Ellewoutsdijk (Zuid-Beveland) onder ruime belangstelling de twee verzamelbundels van de Nederlandse auteur Fiona Hack voorgesteld. Deze schrijfster deed vorig jaar een oproep bij Zeeuwse auteurs om verhalen en gedichten in te zenden waarop massaal werd gereageerd. Meer dan zeventig schrijvers stuurden een bijdrage in, goed voor een gedichtenbundel én een verhalenbundel met niets dan werk van Zeeuwse bodem.
De voorstelling werd muzikaal opgeluisterd door Duo Duende, waarin schrijfster en beeldend kunstenaar Henny van Kesteren haar veelzijdigheid toont. Ze musiceert samen met Wilco de Schipper en schrijft ook, getuige haar bijdrage in de verhalenbundel.
Schrijfster Fiona Hack, bezieler van het Zeeuwse project, kondigde ook een nieuw initiatief aan. Ze lanceerde een oproep om nu ook verhalend werk voor kinderen in te sturen.
Twee auteurs waren van de partij om uit eigen werk voor te lezen. Auteur Rachel van de Vrede toonde dat op talent geen leeftijd staat. Ze verraste met twee leuke verhalen in het Zeeuws, waarbij uitgever Stefaan Van Laere van Bola Editions kon merken dat dit dialect opmerkelijk dicht aanleunt bij het West-Vlaams en dus ook voor een Vlaming best te begrijpen valt. Dichter Rene Ijzelenberg overwon zijn aanvankelijke schroom en las niet alleen voor maar zong ook een van zijn gedichten-liedjes.
Auteur en uitgever van de bundel Stefaan Van Laere van Bola Editions verklaarde zijn voorliefde voor Zeeland, dat letterlijk in de achtertuin van zijn woonplaats Oostakker nabij Gent ligt. Zeeuws-Vlaanderen is een geliefkoosde plek voor de schrijver om zich terug te trekken en tot rust te komen, al dan niet op de fiets.
Er was overigens onder de auteurs en aanwezigen behoorlijk wat belangstelling voor de overige uitgaven van Bola Editions, waaronder intussen toch al meerdere Nederlandse auteurs die hun vertrouwen in deze Vlaamse uitgeverij hebben gesteld.
Tenslotte overhandigde Fiona Hack respectievelijk een gedichtenbundel aan mevrouw Klarenbeek van de Culturele Raad Borsele en een verhalenbundel aan mevrouw Pieters. Mevrouw Klarenbeek prees het doorzettingsvermogen van auteur Fiona Hack en bedankte haar om aan 't Kerke - een prachtige locatie voor dergelijke initiatieven - te hebben gedacht.
Ook Bola Editions wenst de gemeente en uiteraard Fiona Hack te danken voor hun inzet en medewerking. Overigens staat in het najaar al deel twee van de verhalenbundel op het programma, want op de oproep van Fiona Hack kwamen er zodanig veel inzendingen dat ze onmogelijk in één bundel konden.
